25 years!!

Wow, I sit here in awe at what has happened and how 25 years have flown by. This May 16th will be the 25th anniversary with my husband. How full of joy I am when I think about him. JEFF - - He is the one person who can make me happiest or maddest in the world.

I love him for who he has helped me become. He pushes me to step out of my comfort zone and to jump up out of the ruts I sometimes get into. He is my best friend and the one person I know will be there for me.

25 years of a roller coaster ride that has been incredible. There have been times I have wanted off. But, thankfully the cars never slowed down enough for me to jump out.

Sticking it out, has been hard but so worth it. Now we walk through the mall or down the beach (when I can get him to go) hand in hand and are enjoying the empty nesting time. It is so much fun I must say.

Jeff, I love you! Thanks for being. . .

The Other Moment

As some of you know we have been on sabbatical from Ministry for a short while. Catching our breath and awaiting what God would have us do. . .

The other moment in my previous post is now official and underway. My husband is now the Pastor of Student Ministries at First Baptist Jensen Beach, FL. We have been praying for about 6 months now, knowing that we were ready to get back into ministry, but seeking where God wanted us to be. It is now official and such a wonderful fit for us. We are already a part of this church as we have been attending there since last fall. It feels good to be doing what we have been called to do. . .Actual ministry - helping others, getting to know these kids and trying to make a difference. That is what this church is all about. That is what God is all about.

Had an interesting discussion with the girls in the class I taught this morning. About what true Christians should be like. We agree that it should look just like what Jesus did while He was on the earth. Loving others, helping others, meeting them where they are, not judging them or putting them down, finding out what they are all about. Everyone has a story. Everyone just wants someone to care.

Christians are portrayed in a bad light in some cases. We just don't want to be that way. We want others to see Jesus love coming through us. Can't do that is your yelling at them from across the street or holding up ugly signs condemning them. I believe if Jesus were here today. . .He would be in the abortion clinic, hugging those precious girls that have just had a big dose of reality. Comforting those hurting & lost souls whoever they may be. Not hold up in some church-house condemning them or fearing them.

I will pose the question to you I asked of myself and this group of girls this morning -
"What do others know about God by watching you everyday?" . . . Because believe me they are watching to see even a glimpse of hope from someone! Anyone!

Another year older. . .

Well, on the first day of the next year of my life (yes, I am a nother year older!) I had two major "Moments"! Crazy huh?

The First one I cannot share yet. . .but it is good!

Second, I get a call from my daughter saying "Guess what I am doing?"

Of course I reply, "What are you doing?"

She says, "I am staring at something very very shiney. . . .on my left HAND!!!!!" and proceeds to break my eardrum by screaming into the phone "I'm engaged!"

Flashes of my little girl about 4yrs old, when she would run into the house and ask "Guess what I was doing, Mommy?" or when she would climb in my lap and say, "Ooh Wee!". . . The young girl getting ready for Prom. . .the daughter who drove me crazy at 13 and at now 21 almost 22 is a dear friend. . .the 5 yr old concerned, to tears, because her friend doesn't love Jesus. . .the little girl singing "I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee" off key but oh so precious, now sings like an angel. . .the little stinker who would do something wrong to get her brother in trouble and act all innocent. . .how much fun we had going to San Francisco together. . .Thought I was ready and prepared for this. . .I mean we've been planning the wedding! But, now it's really official! I am excited don't get me wrong. . .reality is just setting in.

I pray for her upcoming marriage to be as full and wonderful as mine is. That the fights will always end with love and understanding. That laughter will fill their home. And most of all the would always keep God as the center of their marriage. When times get hard they will cling to each other instead of pulling away.

Linsey, I am sooooooo happy for you! I love you! Welcome Keith, to our very disfunctional family! We have fun here! I love you, too.

Sanity. . .

This was sent to me and I thought it was pretty good.:

Jim and Edna were both patients in a mental hospital. One day while theywere walking past the hospital swimming pool, Jim suddenly jumped into the deep end. He sank to the bottom of the pool and stayed there. Edna promptly jumped in to save him. She swam to the bottom and pulled Jim out.

When the director of Nursing became aware of Edna's heroic act, she considered her to be mentally stable. When she went to tell Edna the news she said, "Edna, I have good news and bad news. The good news is you're being discharged; since you were able to rationally respond to a crisis by jumping in and saving the life of another patient, Ihave concluded that your act displays sound mindness. The bad news is thatJim, the patient you saved, hung himself in his bathroom with the belt tohis robe right after you saved him. I am sorry, but he's dead." Edna replied, "He didn't hang himself, I put him there to dry. How soon can I go home?"

Moments in life

My husband is a wonderful man. Had to link his latest posting to my site, as it has filled me with even more love for him. Even after 25 years. . . http://primalexperiment.blogspot.com/2006/02/searching-for-handle-on-moment.html
A few moments I recall. . .

A tense meeting, frustration flowing. . .a sigh. . .a cry for a second chance (or is that a 5th or 10th chance?). . ."I just don't know". . .he says "I wish that we could start over". . .my reply "that would be nice if we only could". . .that little grin on his face as he comes over to me and says "Hi, my name is Jeff". . .a new beginning!

He bursts throught the door. . .beaming from ear to ear. . .I did it! I got my 6 month sobriety chip!. . .now it's been 18 years! Awesome!

what a wonder God is that He lifted us out of the pit. . .sheltered us through the storms we've been through. . .loved us when so unloveable! Thank YOU!

How greatful I am every day for the man who lets God guide his steps! And for the example he has given our children. . .for the lives they are starting. . .for the examples they will be. . .
