Another year older. . .

Well, on the first day of the next year of my life (yes, I am a nother year older!) I had two major "Moments"! Crazy huh?

The First one I cannot share yet. . .but it is good!

Second, I get a call from my daughter saying "Guess what I am doing?"

Of course I reply, "What are you doing?"

She says, "I am staring at something very very shiney. . . .on my left HAND!!!!!" and proceeds to break my eardrum by screaming into the phone "I'm engaged!"

Flashes of my little girl about 4yrs old, when she would run into the house and ask "Guess what I was doing, Mommy?" or when she would climb in my lap and say, "Ooh Wee!". . . The young girl getting ready for Prom. . .the daughter who drove me crazy at 13 and at now 21 almost 22 is a dear friend. . .the 5 yr old concerned, to tears, because her friend doesn't love Jesus. . .the little girl singing "I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee" off key but oh so precious, now sings like an angel. . .the little stinker who would do something wrong to get her brother in trouble and act all innocent. . .how much fun we had going to San Francisco together. . .Thought I was ready and prepared for this. . .I mean we've been planning the wedding! But, now it's really official! I am excited don't get me wrong. . .reality is just setting in.

I pray for her upcoming marriage to be as full and wonderful as mine is. That the fights will always end with love and understanding. That laughter will fill their home. And most of all the would always keep God as the center of their marriage. When times get hard they will cling to each other instead of pulling away.

Linsey, I am sooooooo happy for you! I love you! Welcome Keith, to our very disfunctional family! We have fun here! I love you, too.

Sanity. . .

This was sent to me and I thought it was pretty good.:

Jim and Edna were both patients in a mental hospital. One day while theywere walking past the hospital swimming pool, Jim suddenly jumped into the deep end. He sank to the bottom of the pool and stayed there. Edna promptly jumped in to save him. She swam to the bottom and pulled Jim out.

When the director of Nursing became aware of Edna's heroic act, she considered her to be mentally stable. When she went to tell Edna the news she said, "Edna, I have good news and bad news. The good news is you're being discharged; since you were able to rationally respond to a crisis by jumping in and saving the life of another patient, Ihave concluded that your act displays sound mindness. The bad news is thatJim, the patient you saved, hung himself in his bathroom with the belt tohis robe right after you saved him. I am sorry, but he's dead." Edna replied, "He didn't hang himself, I put him there to dry. How soon can I go home?"
