Moments in life

My husband is a wonderful man. Had to link his latest posting to my site, as it has filled me with even more love for him. Even after 25 years. . . http://primalexperiment.blogspot.com/2006/02/searching-for-handle-on-moment.html
A few moments I recall. . .

A tense meeting, frustration flowing. . .a sigh. . .a cry for a second chance (or is that a 5th or 10th chance?). . ."I just don't know". . .he says "I wish that we could start over". . .my reply "that would be nice if we only could". . .that little grin on his face as he comes over to me and says "Hi, my name is Jeff". . .a new beginning!

He bursts throught the door. . .beaming from ear to ear. . .I did it! I got my 6 month sobriety chip!. . .now it's been 18 years! Awesome!

what a wonder God is that He lifted us out of the pit. . .sheltered us through the storms we've been through. . .loved us when so unloveable! Thank YOU!

How greatful I am every day for the man who lets God guide his steps! And for the example he has given our children. . .for the lives they are starting. . .for the examples they will be. . .

Th Hokey Pokey. . .

My husband used to have a bumper sticker on his car questioning us all. . .

"What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?"

Because of that. . . a friend of mine sent us this sad news. . .

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person which almost went unnoticed last week. . .

Larry La Prise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey", died peacefully at age 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin.

They put his left leg in, and then the trouble started. . .

Why would you dread this??

I am a Grandmother!! What a wonderful time of life to be in! Just got back from spending time with our son and his family. What a great time we had! I was officially called Nannie with out having to coax-- "Say Nannie" . I thought my kids saying Momma was great, but this is just as wonderful. Probably better because we can sit and hide our laughter when a temper tantrum is thrown and not have to deal with it. (we put our time in with his daddies tantrums!)

Jackson is such a joy! He has this great little personality. Nothing brightens my day like seeing him, next best thing is seeing his pictures, with that huge grin. Tara had a calendar made for us. Each month has pictures of Jackson, we love it!

I have one question to ask - -

Why in the world would anyone NOT want to be a grandmother or grandfather????
It didn't make me any older than I already am. . .Just alot more grateful for the life I have and for my precious children. Seeing them grown up and starting their own lives is really a joy. You always wonder if you 'got it right' - -I don't think any of us 'get it right'. But it helps to know the ONE Who can make our mistakes right! I give God all the credit for the way my children turned out. They are both very loving and caring. . .Willing to learn and change. . .eager to love and be loved. . .they have both found someone special to spend their lives with and I am so happy for them!

I remember my father-in-law saying over and over again, when I was pregnant with TJ (the first grandchild), he would tell me "He will not call me Paw Paw or Grandpa, he will call me Jim!" Until the day he held TJ in his arms. I had never seen such a big, strong, independent man melt as fast as he did that day - -He giggled and grinned and said "Come to Paw Paw!!" He was Paw Paw from then on. . .

Don't fight it! Enjoy the fruit of your labor. . . and their labor!! ;o) enjoying theirs is much better!
