Our church is doing a thing called SOS (Summer of Service) we have shirts that say "The Church has left the building. . ." - went to the thursday night out at Jensen Beach (downtown hang out night) and handed out free bottled water (no strings attached, for real!) - didn't even invite anyone to church - just gave them some cold water. It was awesome to watch their faces when they heard it was free. . . people were not sure how to react.
It was great . . Jeff and I befriended these two street musicians (one had a mohawk), they were so funny. had a great time interacting with them and all the different people there. We are doing this all summer and then hopefully going to continue on. . .
I think this is may be a little more like it should be - getting out and meeting people, giving them a smile and saying HI or have a good evening. We got alot of smiles in return. Can't wait for next week!
